**Job Summary**
We are currently seeking a Per Diem (~ 10 hrs month) **Pharmacokinetist PK/TK Senior Toxicologist (Life Sciences)** .This position will work on-site in our **Columbus, OH** location beginning in 2025.
Battelle's Life Science Research Center offers a staff of highly trained scientist and technicians, and state of the art facilities to support our clients' toxicology, safety pharmacology, and inhalation research programs. Our multidisciplinary integrated approach to providing critical solutions for our pharmaceuticals, biotech, agrichemical, industrial, and government clients increases the speed of the development while maintaining quality and compliance.
The Toxicologist functions as a subject matter expert within the organization and, as a study director, has oversight of the scientific elements of projects to ensure successful implementation and/or study completion. This position analyzes and reports results for publication or for the sponsor, provides scientific instruction to other members of the project team, and collaborates with other senior members of the staff on projects/research.
This position is responsible for the organization, management, and business performance of non-clinical toxicology studies. Develops and implements strategic business and market plans which contribute to the group's overall operating results through financial management of gross business volume, capital equipment and operating budgets.
**Responsibilities**
+ Performs role of Toxicology Scientific Subject Matter Expert (SME) on commercial or government contracts and grants; interfaces with client's scientific staff as appropriate.
+ Reviews toxicology data and authors toxicology study reports, or portions thereof, as appropriate.
+ Drafts protocols, amendments, departmental notifications, and study comments forms, ensuring correct grammar, punctuation, consistency in format and style, and adherence to regulatory requirements and contract language.
+ Reviews and approves Provantis study setups.
+ Participates in all required training.
+ Follows GLP and other appropriate regulatory (e.g., OECD, ICH) requirements to ensure all experimental data, including observations of unanticipated findings, are accurately recorded and verified.
+ Identifies and incorporates exceptions to GLP conduct into GLP study Observes appropriate safety and study requirements by reading, understanding, and following SOP's, GLP regulations, and study protocols.
+ Reviews SOP's associated with study conduct and incorporates language into the protocol describing procedures or processes when necessary.
+ Manages studies within time and budget constraints.
+ Within defined policies and procedures, provides resolution to complex scientific problems within a specified program.
+ Performs other duties as required.
**Key Qualifications**
+ PhD degree in life sciences discipline with 2+ years prior experience conducting toxicokinetic or pharmacokinetics studies; or Master's degree with 5+ years prior experience or Bachelor's degree with 8+ years prior experience. With toxicokinetics or related science totaling 2 years.
+ Demonstrated experience (publication record) in analyzing and modeling toxicokinetic data.
+ Knowledge and ability to use the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of the particular field of specialization.
+ Expertise in design, execution, interpretation of pharmacokinetic toxicology studies.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills including correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
+ Has advanced the field of knowledge in his/her specialty. Work directly impacts the present or future of the organization in significant ways
+ Demonstrated competency in regulated environment including prior experience working in a GLP or similarly regulated environment.
+ Must be willing to participate in random drug screening.

**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology certified OR DABT eligible - if not already certified, candidate will be required to become board certified within one year of hire date.
+ PhD with publication experience is strongly preferred.
**Salary**
Hiring Range: $50/hr - $72/hr
Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data.

**Job Summary**

**Schedule** :

**Responsibilities**
+ Design and develop the maintenance schedules in alignment with the Lab operational and Site leadership, direct the duties and oversee performance of outside contractors, and manage the preventative maintenance contracts.
+ Plan and execute preventative maintenance and emergency service work for lab operations to mitigate the operational impact and outages, with an emphasis on critical facility shutdowns and implement corrective actions to ensure the safety and reliability of critical systems.
+ Develop and enhance preventative maintenance and non-routine repair plans by identifying trends and analyzing equipment performance data-such as blowers, filters, generators, and compressors-to ensure minimal project impact.
+ Evaluate and identify the critical supplies and equipment needed to maintain continuous operations and direct Craft Maintenance Leaders to order and manage inventory levels.
+ Analyze operational data to make informed recommendations to the Maintenance Manager and Building Controls Specialist for reducing operational costs.
+ Ensure all environmental conditions meet specifications by working with Controls Specialists and Maintenance Teams to review the building automation system for alarm conditions.
+ Oversee maintenance budget for operational support and provide recommendations for the annual corporate capitalization plans.
+ Resolve internal and external audit findings to ensure building systems, safety equipment, and personal protective equipment are operational and compliant with U.S. Army and OSHA regulations.
+ Develop and facilitate onboarding and training of maintenance employees and contractors on topics such as mechanical systems, access control, alarms, and responses to equipment.
**Key Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in related field; 10 years of applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
+ Regulatory compliance (e.g., environmental, safety, building code, fire code), logistics, quality, purchasing/procurement, budget management, project management, systems coordination, computer and security technology knowledge, ability to interact with outside regulators.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Proven ability to create and maintain a master schedule for infrastructure needs, personnel, and projects at multiple sites.

A **Senior Network Security Researcher** at Battelle is an expert in the infrastructure and operation of transmission of data across the Internet and local networks. Network Security Researchers are experts in the OSI model and have knowledge of encryption. This job is right if you have a passion for understanding how machines talk to one another through packet inspection. There are also opportunities to expand your knowledge of radio frequency concepts with hands-on mentorship.
The ideal candidate will not only be an expert in their technical field, but also an organizational leader, mentor to junior personnel, trusted customer partner, and driver of growth across programs and the organization.
**Responsibilities**
+ Develop and implement processes and procedures for quantitative evaluations of voice and video services (MOS, PESQ, etc.)
+ Lead development and implementation of architectures for simulating (and/or emulating) portions of a customer network in a lab environment for troubleshooting and analysis
+ Research techniques used by Advanced Persistent Threats (APT) to move and communicate on the network. Determine which techniques would be blocked by customer network security controls and policies. Simulate remaining techniques in a lab and collect data to help develop detection approaches.
+ Research emerging trends in networking technology such as software defined networking, network function virtualization and virtual network functions. Develop experiments to analyze the potential impact of these technologies on customer networks and document results. + Provide technical briefings to team members, program management and customers as required.

**Key Qualifications**

Job Summary
Battelle is seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer (level 4) to work in the Electronic Warfare group within the National Security Division. The position is located at Battelle Headquarters in Columbus, OH.
The RF Engineer will be responsible for leading development of complex RF/microwave systems, for utilization in Communications and Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions. The applicant must have extensive experience in microwave design techniques, FPGA and embedded system development, radio signal processing, simulation tools and microwave test equipment. This position will work closely with antenna engineers on state-of-the-art phased array antennas, requiring a solid foundational understanding of antenna design and phased array applications including Electronic Beam Steering (EBS) and Direction Finding (DF). A successful candidate will be capable of making technical presentations to peers, program leadership, and customers and assist in new business development.
Responsibilities
Ability to work independently, as well as direct and coordinate work of multi-disciplinary engineering teams to assure the successful development of RF systems.

**Job Summary**
Battelle's Biomedical Research Center is currently seeking a **Laboratory Technician Trainee** whose primary responsibility is to provide non-technical support for the task work and maintenance to support the Battelle Biomedical Research Center Biological and Chemical Surety laboratories. Responsibilities
Installs and maintains a variety of electrical equipment including fixtures, conductors, raceway systems, grounding systems, panel-boards, transformers, motors, controls, over-current protection, fire detection and alarm systems, appliances, communications systems, actuating devices, security-related components, and other equipment. Maintains an adequate inventory of spare parts, monitors system performance and demand to ensure compliance with safety and energy savings guidelines.
Maintains records of test reports, blueprints, as built plans, and other documentation, and reports on the status of assigned equipment maintenance, repairs, capacities and efficiency to the supervisor. Prepares written requirements for repairs or for ordering parts from a supplier. Develops work procedures which identify tasks/steps and conducts hazard analysis.
Examines and tests elements of electrical systems to locate faults, defects, and unsafe conditions. The Drilling and Completions Engineer will be responsible for planning and executing drilling, completions, injectivity testing and workover operations related to carbon storage applications. The selected applicant will be involved in the entire drilling, completing and testing life cycle, from initial well design to well testing to managing on-site execution team and will work collaboratively with our internal teams of subsurface team and project manager as well as external teams of clients and many service providers. + Maintain Stakeholder Communication
+ Serve as a key liaison between internal and external parties to ensure the success of a drilling operation safely.
+ When conflicts arise, work with project team and present solutions for stakeholders to agree on and approve.
+ Ensure the project is adhering to environment standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Monitor Drilling Processes
+ Work closely with well site supervisor and other subcontractors to ensure drill plan is followed.
+ Perform benchmarking, identify areas that need improvement, or find ways to apply new technologies for efficiency.
+ Keep drilling operations on track, coordinate daily operational calls, check the accuracy of reports, lead risk assessments, run pre-spud meetings (DWOP, etc) and coordinate logistics.
+ Make cost-effective changes that keep complex drilling projects on time and on budget.
**Key Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 6 years of drilling, completions (including injectivity testing) and workover experience or Master's degree in Engineering with 4 years of related experience or PhD with 1 year of related experience.
+ Experience performing casing design and nodal analysis is required.
+ Extensive knowledge and practical operations experience on completion activities, injectivity testing, legacy wells remediation and abandonment activities.
+ Data analysis - engineers will be expected to conduct thorough analysis on relevant data obtained from offset wells when designing wells.
+ Contracting - familiarity and experience with IADC standard contracting and common subcontracts in the oilfield.
+ Effective negotiations skills with external contractors, clients and efficiency in establishing performance benchmarks.
+ Analytical skills - analyzing drilling performance and factors that affect project cost and effectiveness.
+ Competent and clear writing skills for reports required for action authorization or recommendations.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

**Responsibilities**
+ **TECHNICAL:**
+ The primary role is to perform necropsy examinations of small and large laboratory animals; to include gross necropsy, tissue collection, fixation, and labeling of specimens.

+ Trim tissues into cassettes for the histopathology team.

**Job Summary**
**Battelle's Defense and Material Solutions Business Unit** is currently seeking a **Computer Engineer.** This position is located at **Columbus, OH** .
The person selected for this position will be responsible for the design, development, test, and production of complex electronic and electromechanical systems with some technical oversight. The ability to troubleshoot and debug existing systems is also required. The person filling this position will be expected to function as part of a technical team which may be composed of engineers, technicians, and support staff. This person will perform assignments such as designing electrical schematics, writing embedded firmware, compiling and evaluating design and test data, and preparing technical specifications. The person will be capable of finding solutions and answers beyond the area of experience.
Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures. Assignments may involve research for device and technology development; the design, build and integration of hardware and software components for computing systems and networks; and development of specifications for assigned system components.
**Responsibilities**
+ Performs assignments of moderate complexity by compiling and evaluating design and test data, preparing technical specifications, analyzing technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for computing systems, components, equipment, and networks.
+ Interprets, compiles and analyzes data collected and writes various technical reports.
+ Design, fabricate, and integrate electronic systems as part of an integrated technical team

**Key Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited electrical/computer engineering program with 2-5 years of experience or master's degree in related field with 1-4 years of experience
+ Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance at the TS/SCI level
+ Physically fit to accomplish required tasks including working from ladders and in confined spaces
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Positive attitude, good character, and eagerness to take on technical challenges
+ Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
+ Problem solving ability and commitment to quality results under schedule deadlines
+ Solid grasp of basic electrical engineering concepts and ability to learn
+ Experience with standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.
+ Experience with computer languages/programs such as C, MATLAB, Word, Excel, etc.
+ Experience working in a lab environment, including preparing, conducting, and documenting tests, soldering, and wiring
+ Familiarity with electrical engineering design tools (Altium, Spice simulation tools, etc.) and methods (concept, design, build, test, lifecycle support)
+ Experience generating and interpreting engineering schematics
+ Experience with embedded systems design, programming, and troubleshooting
+ Travel when required by project tasks
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ US citizenship with active DOD Level 5 Top Secret (TS) clearance
+ Signal processing experience, both software and hardware based
+ Experience with underwater systems - sonar, propulsion, etc.

**Job Summary**
We are currently seeking an **Inhalation Toxicologist (Biochemist III)** . This position is located in **Columbus, OH** . As an Inhalation Toxicologist in our Life Sciences Research (LSR) Team, you will play a crucial role as a study director within the organization and has oversight of the scientific elements of projects to ensure successful implementation and/or study completion of inhalation toxicology studies. This position analyzes and reports results for publication and/or to sponsor, provides scientific instruction to other members of the project team, and collaborates with other senior members of the staff on projects/research. This position may also be responsible for the supervision, oversight, scheduling, training, and mentoring of individuals within Battelle's Life Science Research Center. Individuals filling this position must be and remain knowledgeable of emerging trends and may contribute to and influence best practices within the discipline.
By ensuring the highest standards of scientific integrity, you will contribute to our efforts to identify potentially hazardous substances and evaluate their effects on human health. The technical report writer and study director will support scientific research that safeguards public health, aligning with Battelle's mission to apply science and technology to solve complex global challenges.
**Responsibilities**
+ Serves as Study Director for Inhalation Toxicology studies with focus on public health research while adhering to the NIEHS Division of Translational Toxicology (DTT) Study Specifications and compliance with GLP and study protocol specifications.
+ Serves as Study Director for inhalation and chemistry prestart characterization in coordination with other Inhalation and Chemist technical leads.
+ Interfaces directly with NIEHS and other government client's scientific staff as appropriate.
+ Partners with Business Development, Project Management, and Proposals to ensure successful client engagement, proposal development, study execution, and deliverables upon study completion.
+ Designs inhalation toxicology studies in collaboration with NIEHS-DTT and Battelle inhalation scientists and engineers.
+ Reviews and interprets toxicology data and authors toxicology study reports.
+ Demonstrates working knowledge of toxicological research via multiple exposure routes.
+ Participates in proposal generation and performs scientific/technical review of proposals.
+ Identifies and incorporates exceptions to GLP conduct into GLP study protocols as applicable (e.g., systems/processes that are not validated).
+ Reviews and approves Provantis protocols for study setups.
+ Participates in all required training.
+ Follows FDA GLP and other appropriate regulatory (e.g., OECD, ICH) requirements to ensure all experimental data, including observations of unanticipated findings, are accurately recorded and verified.
+ Observes appropriate safety and study requirements by reading, understanding, and following SOP's, GLP regulations, and study protocols.
+ Reviews SOP's associated with study conduct and incorporates language into the protocol describing procedures or processes when necessary.
+ Authors, updates, and/or reviews area-specific SOP's, ensuring that SOP's reflect current practices.
+ Manages studies within time and budget constraints.
+ Oversees the building of new capabilities to bring in new technologies and services.
+ Within defined policies and procedures, provides resolution to complex scientific problems within a specified program.

**Key Qualifications**
+ PhD degree in life sciences discipline or Master's degree with 2- 5+ years prior experience or Bachelor's degree with 5- 8+ years prior experience.
+ Expertise in in-vivo design, execution, interpretation of environmental toxicology research studies for government clients.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills including correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Prior presentation experience.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology certified OR DABT eligible - if not already certified, candidate will be required to become board certified within five years of hire date.
+ Demonstrated competency in regulated environment including prior experience working in a GLP or similarly regulated environment.
