We are seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical skills, the ability to read blueprints, and proficiency in using measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers. The role involves turning outside and inside diameters, machining internal and external threads, and working within a tolerance Maintaining good housekeeping and adherence to the 5S system are also essential.
Schedule:
2nd Shift 3p-11p. Must train the morning from 7a-3p for at least 90 days. Must be ok with overtime when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate manual lathes to perform precision machining operations.
• Turn outside and inside diameters to specified dimensions.
• Machine internal and external threads.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand machining specifications.
• Use and calibrate measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure precision.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Ensure the quality of machined parts meets or exceeds specifications.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Adhere to the 5S system (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).

Responsibilities:
Weld plasma components certifying per various industry requirements.
Ensure completion is in line with Quality Procedures and Work Instructions.
Ensure all batch documentation and supporting records are completed correctly and on time, inputted into ERP system, to ensure on time delivery.
Ensure traceability to raw material and work order is controlled.
Liaise with Purchasing in the provision and replenishment of materials for production and packaging activities, maintain and inventory raw material and consumables as necessary.
Report non-compliance situations that arise within your areas of responsibility to the Quality Manager and assist in subsequent activities.
Ensure all manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures are maintained current and in a state of compliance.
Ensure production areas and equipment are maintained in compliance with maintenance log and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) policies
Identify and assist in activities associate with implementing process improvements.
Observe and comply with various industry and customer requirements.
Observe and comply with company Standard Operating Procedures, Safety and lock out / tag out policies.
Participate in internal housekeeping inspections, quality and client audits.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of manual lathe, presses and/or form rolling equipment.
Bench welding skills are a plus
Knowledge of manufacturing processes with the ability to read work orders.
Knowledge of aerospace industry helpful, but not required.
Knowledge of measurement tools; calipers/verniers, pi tapes, micrometers, drop indicators, helpful
Knowledge of blueprints, helpful.
Pay close attention to detail and tight tolerances.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Must have a steady hand.
Be able to work without supervision machining parts.

Chucker Lathe Essential Responsibilities & Knowledge:
Set-up and operate Chucker Lathes adhering to the safety, quality and quantity standards of Timken Aurora Bearing Company. Perform all duties as assigned in a safe and efficient manner with an emphasis on quality.
Select and change tooling, collets and associated machine settings to perform the body bore operation.
Set body I.D. size, groove dimension and visual characteristics to meet print specifications. Select and set appropriate gauges to meet print specifications.
Run 1st piece part, make necessary adjustments to attain quality characteristics per print specifications and complete necessary paperwork to attain a set-up approval.
Load parts, cycle machine, check parts at designated intervals and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality characteristics of part per print specifications throughout machining operations.
Package and tag parts, complete all required paperwork associated with the process.
Move parts to and from work area and scale as needed.
Maintain all machine oil levels
Sign out all necessary gauging equipment from Q.A. and set gauges per print specifications
Sharpen drills and tool bits as required
Minimum Requirments:
High School Diploma or GED (validation is required)
Previous experience in manufacturing environment as machinist preferred
