Job Description Overview We have an outstanding career opportunity for a successful Inside Sales Engineer to be located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This individual will provide pre-sales technical support for Commvault and partner sales teams. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to customer/partner conference calls, conducting demonstrations (promotional and educational) and presentations, design creation, licensing assistance, remote POC support, RFI/RFP support, assistance with automation and enablement tool development, assistance with development of internal systems and processes, and development of technical training materials and documentation. Position Responsibilities * Work as part of a virtual systems engineering support team to provide services to accelerate and advance opportunities through the technical validation cycle. * Architect solutions built on the Commvault solution aimed at solving technical, business, operational, and financial issues. * Propose and demonstrate the Commvault suite of products through the use of remote demos, whiteboard, presentations, etc. * Assist with the education of inside sales and partner sales/SEs on general IT concepts related to data management and storage. * Work with Commvault's internal systems and databases to ensure pertinent customer sales, environment, and contact data is captured. * Develop specific areas of expertise in complementary technologies (e.g., virtualization, storage infrastructure, deduplication) in addition to maintaining broad core product skills. Participate in internal and 3rd party training opportunities. * Work with internal departments (sales, support, marketing, development), as appropriate, to ensure success during sales campaigns and/or to ensure the customer experience is extremely positive. * Assist with the development of toolkits and systems to facilitate knowledge transfer and efficiency. Position Requirements * Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent. * 4+ years of experience in systems administration, pre-sales, or a related field. Experience with Commvault or competitive (e.g., Symantec, EMC BURA) data management software offerings is preferred. * Must demonstrate strong proficiency in data protection, archiving, networking, storage, and systems administration with the ability to perform basic project management; typically obtained by 2-5 years' experience in systems/network administration, pre-sales, or a related field. * Understanding and capability to articulate Commvault features such as Gridstor, Vault Tracker, OneTouch, Deduplication, and SRM/Commnet. * Ability to articulate and effectively convey the Commvault business and technical value proposition to a range of stakeholders (from admin to director level) within customer organizations. * Possess a strong grasp of complementary and competitive technologies (e.g., VMware, NetApp, Storage Infrastructure, Symantec NetBackup & Backup Exec, EMC BURA offerings). * In-depth knowledge of Windows, Linux, and/or UNIX (Server and Client) Operating systems, virtualization technologies, SQL, Exchange, Oracle database. * Ability to work remotely as a key contributing member in a dynamic, cohesive team environment. * Ability to perform and manage a wide variety of technical validation activities remotely, leveraging remote meeting tools and communication skills required to successfully drive remote engagements. * Periodic travel (10-15%) as needed.
