Shift Schedule: This is a Relief Position. 20 hours per week. Weekends. This position will fill shifts as needed for the facility. Shifts are Defined as: 1st Shift = 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM 2nd Shift = 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM 3rd Shift = 11:30 PM - 8:00 AM Summary: Responsible for the preparation of meals, managing foodservice inventory, maintaining foodservice equipment, and assisting the Director with coordinating outside agency inspections. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Works independently to perform moderately difficult tasks in preparing quantities of quickly prepared food. Meal Preparation: Prepares meals and ensures that all aspects of the food service operation comply with applicable regulations, requirements, and standards and follow the approved menu schedule provided by a licensed dietitian. Provides and posts advanced notification to the Director and Residents of all menu substitutions. Food and Kitchen Management: Manages inventory and ordering of food and food prep equipment to ensure adequate supply and timely preparation of meals. Health and Safety: Maintains sanitary and safety standards and cleanliness of the kitchen, serving and prep areas, dishes and utensils, and related equipment. Record Keeping: Maintains required written records regarding the food service operation. Maintains Working Knowledge of all Procedures and Policies: Statement of Work, Physical Plant, Operations Manuals, including but not limited to Emergency Drills, Life Safety, Facility Sanitation, and Escape and Unusual Occurrence Procedures. Work Schedule: Works assigned schedule. About the Venue The Greensboro Complex is a versatile multi-building facility that serves the community of Greensboro and its surrounding areas. It hosts a wide array of events, such as athletic competitions, cultural arts showcases, concerts, theater performances, educational activities, fairs, exhibits, as well as public and private gatherings, including conventions, convocations, trade shows, and consumer shows. It plays a crucial role as a hub of community activities and significantly contributes to the regional economy. The Complex is made up of nine venues, the largest being the renowned 22,000-seat First Horizon Coliseum, which has a storied history of hosting prestigious ACC and NCAA basketball championships, and a concert history featuring legendary artists like Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Elvis Presley, as well as today's biggest artists like Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift. The Complex also includes the 167,000-square foot Special Events Center, encompassing three exhibition halls, a 4,500-seat mini-arena, and eight meeting rooms. Additionally, there's White Oak Amphitheatre, Piedmont Hall, the Novant Health Fieldhouse, Greensboro Aquatic Center, The Terrace, ACC Hall of Champions, and the 300-seat Odeon Theatre. Responsibilities Responsible for cooking and packaging food product which is prepared to order or kept warm until sold. Receives verbal orders from the front counter staff for food product requirements for guest orders. Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items. Food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests. Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served in the concession stand. Responsible for cleaning, stocking and restocking of workstations and displays. Responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and ovens. Ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away and floor is swept and mopped at end of shift. The Cook must be checked out before ending the shift by the Floor Supervisor to ensure the concession stand meets cleanliness standards. Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas. Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance. Qualifications Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment. Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
