Primary Responsibilities:
Greets visitors and patients in person

Works with partnering departments (Financial Counseling, Scheduling, Financial Clearance, and clinical areas) to ensure all aspects of the patient's encounter are completed as needed
Provides wayfinding instructions and assists with hospital information as requested
Coordinates patient admission needs, bed assignments, and tracking boards where applicable
Meets or exceeds audit accuracy standards. Works worklists and error reports timely, and proactively seeks assistance to resolve as needed

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of customer service experience in an office setting or professional work environment

Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday from 3:00pm - 11:00pm

About Us
Foot and Ankle Specialists of Illinois (FASI) is an established medical and surgical podiatry practice located in Algonquin, IL. We are looking to add a Medical Receptionist / Front Desk Coordinator with at least 2+ years of medical office, health care, or customer service experience to our team. If youre a person who starts your day with a smile and ends it with a bigger smile, consider applying for this position. Podiatry experience is a plus (but not required). What you will be doing
Welcoming patients at the main reception desk with a warm, friendly, and inviting demeanor
Handling phone calls and scheduling / re-scheduling appointments
Checking-in / checking-out patients/registration/demographics
Collecting co-pays / deductibles / handling money at the time of service
Creating a 5-star patient/customer experience
Acting as the liaison between patients and any portal/technology questions
Verifying insurance coverage and calculating/documenting patient responsibility
Participating in huddles, debriefs, and team meetings
Assisting the billing team with insurance verification, A/R ledgers, statement calls, and claims work list items
Assisting the marketing team with database maintenance and other marketing initiatives
Training other team members as needed and requested by management
Handling any other duties (and special projects) as assigned by management

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in a busy customer-facing role (required).
Minimum 2 years' experience using medical patient care software or EMR platforms such as e-clinical works, next-gen office, Athena, epic, or other similar systems (preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products Outlook e-mail, excel, etc
Willingness to learn and collaborate
Excellent communication and writing skills
