Summary
The Uniform Designer (UD) creates, develops, and produces artwork files for custom sports uniforms and teamwear that is suitable for DTF (direct to film), heat transfers, and embroidery applications. The UD collaborates with internal and external customers to understand design needs, provide design templates, and satisfy custom product order requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Uniform Designer will perform specific tasks like the following:
Produce and develop designs for custom sports uniforms, incorporating team logos, colors, and branding
Develop artwork for use with DTF printing, heat transfer, and embroidery techniques
Prepare digital artwork and production files using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or similar software as it relates to DTF printing and sublimation
Collaborate with sales, customers, and consumers to understand their custom design requirements and provide design mock-ups
Ensure design quality and consistency across all production processes
Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot any design or printing issues
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, new materials, and printing technologies
Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
Aid in operating and maintaining print, heat press, and embroidery equipment as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or closely related field required; an appropriate combination of post-secondary education and experience may be substituted
Prior work experience as a graphic designer or production artist is required
Background as a sportswear designer, graphic designer, or similar role in the apparel industry is preferred
Knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, etc.).
Ability to create digital mock-ups and production-ready files
Ability to learn the process for DTF printing, heat transfer application, and embroidery techniques; prior experience is a plus
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration
Physical Demands/Essential Functions
Some physical lifting and movement throughout the day between work station and machines
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an open office environment
Prolonged periods of standing at a work station, embroidery machine, or DTF printer.

Position Summary:
The Graphic Designer reports to the Associate Director of Creative Services, and will be responsible for graphic design and visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires, enhancing Covenant College's brand image. This position conceptualizes, creates, and produces assets for a variety of marketing materials, focusing on print collateral and digital graphic elements. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of Adobe design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. Collaborating with multiple internal departments and the marketing team, the graphic designer should be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects with the target audience. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing, and be able to find the right style and layout for every project and internal department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
* Assist the Associate Director of Creative Services with graphic design needs.
* Assist in graphic design projects for various departments on campus.
* Provide creative layout and design strategy for various marketing pieces including print /traditional collateral, ads, brochures/flyers, and digital design (email/webpage), and various other projects as needed.
* Assist with project management for creative efforts.
* Assist Associate Director of Creative Services with design layout for VIEW magazine publication.
* Ensure design, visuals, and messaging across all media and campaigns meet brand standards and guidelines.
* Collaborate closely with copywriters on content and layout design needs to elevate the visual storytelling of Covenant College.
* Assist Associate Director of Creative Services with print production, pre-press checks, proofing, etc. with print vendors as needed.
* Manage design workflow and deadlines in a timely and efficient manner.
* Provide outstanding customer service to the College and its departments and professionally represent College in all business interactions and settings.
* Provide support on and/or lead other projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Communications, and participate in committees and other forums that address the role of marketing at the College.

Physical Work Environment:
