Effective reading, writing and communication skills. Experience with kitting and packaging of finished product. Desired Qualifications: Soldering experience, a plus. Supports plant production needs for daily operation, changeovers, and outbound shipments. Primarily responsible for the receipt of drums as they are dispersed from the production machines. Employees in this role will receive a plastic drum weighing up to 20 lbs with their arms and upper body and transfer it to a worktable placed across from the production machine. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Thrift Store Manager, the Thrift Store Production Worker is responsible for assisting the production crew in cleaning, prep, and tagging merchandise such as clothing, books, electronics, shoes, accessories, household items, etc. CORE WORK PRINCIPLE: Colossians 3:23 is the foundation of URM’s standard for employment, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.” The goal for each employee is to enrich and sustain a humble heart attitude; to enrich and sustain a mindset of serving others, treating them with kindness and truth; and to enrich and sustain a zealous desire for achieving work objectives without any ulterior motives or agendas. THRIFT STORE FLOOR PRODUCTION WORKER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Cleans, tags, and packs merchandise for pricing. Determines which items are perishable and which are recyclable and discards unsellable items. Assists other departments/positions, as needed. Sets the pace for sorting. Records production numbers daily. (i.e., carts, units, etc.) Communicates regularly with management about store issues. Actively engages customers on floor sales to increase donations and merchandise sales. Ensures monthly revenue goals are met. Provides excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers and donors; and responds to customer inquiries/complaints in a timely manner. Ensures store and displays are maintained, clean, and attractive. Maintains safety including all Health and Security policies and procedures. Requirements: THRIFT STORE FLOOR PRODUCTION WORKER EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION/LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent, required. Thrift store, retail store, warehouse, assembly line or restaurant experience, a plus. THRIFT STORE FLOOR PRODUCTION WORKER KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES: Fluency in Spanish, both verbal and written, a plus. Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic. Perform in a fast-paced environment and possess strong organizational skills. Ability to determine the value of donations. Must exhibit strong customer service skills. Clear communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent time management skills and detail oriented. Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment. Must be an effective team member.
