Job Summary:
The Squad Leader will supervise and lead the work activities of one ten-person forestry squad consisting of Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry (ADCRR) inmates. Work will include implementing forestry-related work, transporting squad members from the ADCRR facility to the worksite and back each day, maintaining vehicles and equipment, and inventorying equipment and supplies. It will also include documenting squad member time, incident records, training accomplishments, productivity metrics, and receipts.
Job Duties:
* Supervise and lead the work activities of one ten-person forestry squad consisting of Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry (ADCRR) inmates.
* Document squad member time, incident records, training accomplishments, productivity metrics, and receipts. Recruit, train, and motivate squad members.
* Training will be performed at the worksite as well as the Arizona State Prison Complex where squad members are housed. Train and prepare squad members to successfully pass an arduous pack test which consists of a 3-mile hike with a 45-pound pack over level terrain within 45 minutes.
* Manage the needs and concerns of squad members in a firm, fair, and consistent manner.
* Perform and supervise forestry-related work which includes carrying and using a 20 pound saw for an extended period of time, felling trees and thinning brush; carrying a 40 pound backpack filled with gear and supplies; hiking in rough and steep terrain, and in inclement weather; vigorous digging, lifting, dragging, scattering and piling of brush; camping outdoors with few amenities; applying herbicide with supervision.
* Implement the Incident Command System and coordinate activities with law enforcement, ADCRR, and DFFM staff.
* Participate in safety and compliance inspections, respond to emergencies, and perform on-call tasks as directed by the Crew Supervisor.
* Transport squad members to and from prison complex and worksite, driving long distances in a van with 10 passengers, maintaining vehicles and equipment, and inventory equipment and supplies.
* Drive on State business.
* Other duties as assigned.

The Role As a Health & Welfare Employee Digital Experience Squad Leader, you blend leadership and product development experience with a passion for creating customer value and delivering results. You will be part of the fast-growing Fidelity Health group which helps employees make better health and financial decisions and take full advantage of their benefits. You will make a difference in the lives of our clients employees as they find and pay for health care for themselves and their dependents.
As the product owner you are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities including a new benefits enrollment experience. In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to complete specific product features and ensure respective products or services are available, stable, performant and supported when required. You will ensure alignment on the "what" and "when" work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.
* Providing leadership for one or a small set of squads in alignment with the overall product area strategy
* Defining, refining, and communicating the squads' mission and roadmap to motivate and build team and partner support and alignment
* Making decisions that can impact business results with guidance from leaders. Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team
* Measuring performance against established objectives that deliver on agreed upon business, technology, and people results
* Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria. Engages with partners regularly to share progress.
* Inspecting and evaluating progress, and removing impediments
* Collaborating and coordinating with Chapter Leaders and Scrum Masters to build squad capacity and capability and enabling squad member growth, development and learning
* Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines
* Maintaining an understanding of client and market needs, preferences, and priorities
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
* Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
* Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO) and/or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or similar designations are a plus
* 7+ years in agile, product management, technology and/or business
* At least 3 years leading the building of end customer facing digital experiences
* Experience designing, developing and maintaining dynamic products and solutions
* Financial services and/or benefits administration experience, including familiarity with the regulatory environment, preferred
* Agile experience
* Jira and Jira Align experience preferred
* You take a data-focused approach to understanding customer needs, translate strategic objectives into action, and prioritize to improve value delivered
* You grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria and successfully communicate these
* You have a strong focus on execution and identify, communicate and remove impediments to progress
* You are capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building high-performing teams

By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors, you sustain and evolve our innovative agile culture. You will work within a large and evolving product offering, development, and support program, including numerous interdependent Agile squads.
