Job Description: The Technical Writer is responsible for generating innovative ideas for content while working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Develop new content and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
Qualifications:
4-6 years of industry experience as a Technical Writer or Documentation Specialist, using the typical tools of the trade
Fluency in AWS cloud platform and tools available to Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices
Working experience in a Software Engineering /Development environment and practices
Familiarity with Software Engineering / Development tools such as Confluence and Jira
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
Experience working remotely with a distributed team in the US and across the globe

What will you do?
* Create product documentation and other technical content, such as user guides, API reference, UI text, error messages, and in-app guidance, with accuracy, clarity, and consistency across the Ridgeline platform.
* Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand the latest product development and document new features for your assigned areas. Improve existing documentation.
* Draw from your experience in technical writing and editing, structured authoring, topic-based writing, DITA, and other industry-standard paradigms to help shape the content experiences for Ridgeline customers.
* Utilize your knowledge of JSON, XML, and other data formats to enhance developer and API documentation.
* Collaborate with team members on style guidelines and help writers and product teams create compelling, standards-compliant product content.
* Help develop and maintain documentation and content experience standards and processes.
* Work closely with the Director of Technical Documentation and Content Experience to identify and implement best-in-class product documentation models, as well as authoring and content management systems. Track progress against key content initiatives.
Preferred Skills and Experience
* 8+ years of experience as a technical writer with a focus on software product documentation and content design. Experience on a software product documentation or content design team is a must.
* Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to write in a clear, concise, and engaging style. Experience in writing end-user facing content and UI text for business or consumer applications.
* Experience in topic-based authoring, DITA, and XML-structured authoring.
